Vice President of Media
Steve Bray has over 30 years of experience in broadcast meteorology, newsroom leadership, and media strategy. He graduated from Western Illinois University and Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. Steve began his broadcasting career as a meteorologist and went on to serve more than 20 years at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, where he held roles including Chief Meteorologist and ultimately News Director. His time in the newsroom gave him firsthand insight into the workflows, deadlines, and communication demands faced by modern media organizations. Steve joined Baron Weather as Director of Broadcast Meteorology, where he spent the past decade shaping the company’s media product strategy, advancing the Baron Lynx Weather Display System, developing content creation tools, and leading user education initiatives. He also guided the Client Experience team, establishing a high standard of support for broadcast partners and an expanding private-sector customer base. As Vice President of Media, Steve is responsible for leading Baron’s media strategy across broadcast and digital platforms, sales, and guide product direction to ensure solutions align with real-world newsroom workflows, audience engagement needs, and evolving technologies.
